Artist Statement

     My creative practice serves as a direct reflection of the inherent splendor found within the natural world. Through a blend of oil painting, meticulous drawing, and unique crochet sculptures, I explore the environment's many facets. Oil painting remains my primary medium, as it allows me to indulge in the tactile joy of blending vivid colors and the deliberate application of pigment to canvas. I intentionally limit the scale of my work to under 30 inches to foster a sense of intimacy, inviting the observer to step closer and fully absorb every intricate detail.

     This deliberate sizing encourages a personal connection between the viewer and the art. My compositions primarily focus on topography, ranging from delicate, ornate symbols to landscapes saturated with lush greens and radiant blue horizons. My style strikes a balance between representational forms and expressive, relaxed marks that lend an abstract quality to the rendering. Frequently utilizing a palette of electric lime, soft citrus, and petal pink, I aim to evoke the sensory experience of blooming flora. I see the grandeur in both the extravagant and the everyday, creating art for anyone captivated by the vast spectrum of life’s visual wonders.
